Paid Surveys Scams - How To Avoid Getting Scammed With Surveys

The issue of online paid surveys scams continues to muddy the surveys arena but the truth is, there are legitimate survey opportunities out there.

One thing to remember is that surveys really are nothing new. Before the internet came along they were a great way for companies to source information from their customers about their products and with the results, they were able to provide their customers what they wanted.

But the internet has certainly increased the incidence of paid surveys scams and it usually revolves around selling information which is otherwise free to unsuspecting people. Membership sites where members pay either a one time fee to access or worse still, a monthly fee are on the increase.

The most at risk are new people...those coming online for the first time and many of these are made up of people in the elderly category. The current economic downturn is a catalyst for people to go looking for ways to make extra money and with it comes the scammers ready to promote those money making opportunities to them.

Avoid The Hype

If you're reading this then make note that there are a couple of solid ways of picking a likely scam as opposed to something more legitimate. Paid surveys scams online are usually promoted through hype.

Promises of riches being made completing surveys are too hard to resist at least an initial investigation but do yourself a favor and click away from them. If there was so much money to be made then don't you think everyone would be doing it.

The truth is, you can make extra money with online paid surveys but not in the sense that you'll be able to retire on it. The incentives are small compared to other money making opportunities but the pay off usually comes in the effort required to produce an income.

Paid surveys that work only require minimal effort in most cases from participants and in some respects, this is what attracts people in droves to these opportunities. But it is being a little far-fetched when it's suggested you can make lots of money for little effort and even worse, having to pay for the information being advertised. Much of the information on paid survey sites listings is available free online.

Remember, you shouldn't have to pay for anything that promises to pay you. Think back to a 9-5 job - do you need to pay your employer to go and work for them?

So in a nutshell to avoid paid surveys scams:

- avoid anything that is hyped
- anything promising big money for little effort
- anthing which requires you to pay for information
- anything which uses hyped up testimonials to promote their service and
- above all, anything that sounds too good to be true
